In September 2013, Zhen Jiang, a student from our group attended the 7th International Liquid Crystal Elastomer Conference (ILCEC7), and exhibited his poster titled "Light Controllable Liquid Crystal Soft Actuators via Low-power Excited Upconversion Based on Triplet-Triplet Annihilation"; he finally won the Best Poster Prize and received a 300-Euro bonus from Europhysics Letters.
