Prof. Dirk J. Broer is an academician of Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences, a professor of Eindhoven University of Technology, and the Head of its Department of Functional Organic Materials and Devices. As a distinguished technical advisor of Merck, the world's largest supplier of raw liquid crystal, Prof. Broer has been engaged in LCD panel materials, process innovation and industrialization for 40 years. Prof. Broer has so far received 120 U.S. patents and published 219 SCI papers in international journals with more than 4,369 citations; 6 of his papers were published in Nature; his H-index is even greater than 32.

Upon graduation from Eindhoven University of Technology, Dr. Danqing Liu has been engaged in his postdoctoral research at Prof. Broer's research group.

On July 11, 2014, Prof. Broer and Dr. Danqing Liu presented academic lectures at our department, and participated in an academic exchange with Jiuan Lyu, Yuyun Liu and Lang Qin of our research group.
