National Polymer Academic Paper Report Conference 2017 will be held in Chengdu on October 10-14, 2017. Since 1954, the biennial National Polymer Academic Paper Series Report Conference has been the most important academic conference and a grand event in the polymer science community of China. National Polymer Academic Paper Report Conference 2017 was sponsored by the Polymer Committee, Chinese Chemical Society, and was organized again by Sichuan University after a lapse of ten years. With polymer material as the cut-in point, the conference will present a concentrated display of the research findings and development trends in polymer science and materials in China over the past years, and provide a broad academic and technical exchange platform to the S&T, educational, and industrial practitioners engaged in research and development in this field and the young students, so as to promote the sustainable development and innovation of polymer science in China.

On invitation of the organizing committee, Prof. Yanlei Yu delivered a lecture entitled Photodeformable Liquid Crystal Polymer. Her lively and vivid lecture was warmly welcomed by everyone.

At the conference, students Quan Liu, Bo Xu, Xin Qing and Xinlei Pang of our group displayed four sets of posters at the branch venues of photoelectric functional polymer and polymer physics and soft matter; doctorial students Quan Liu and Bo Xu won the Excellent Poster Award following Lang Qin, who won the same at the previous conference.

Participating in this national polymer event enabled us to fully experience the charm of polymer science and broadened our vision. While communicating with many predecessors and colleagues in academia throughout China, we enhanced our knowledge and understanding of the polymer science, which is of great benefit to our future scientific researches.
