Born in Chongqing in 1983, Hao Bai graduated from the Kezhen Zhu Hybrid Class, College of Zhejiang University and obtained a bachelor's degree in polymer in 2006; received a Ph.D. in physical chemistry from the National Center for Nanoscience and Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2012, with the tutelage of Academician Jiang Lei; from 2012 to 2015, he was engaged in post-doctoral research at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory and University of California Berkeley, with the tutelage of Academician Robert Ritchie and Prof. Antoni Tomsia, respectively. In 2015, Hao Bai was brought under the National Youth Program and the Hundred Talents Program of Zhejiang University; now he serves as a professor and doctoral supervisor in the School of Chemical Engineering and Biological Engineering, Zhejiang University. His representative findings have been published as cover articles in famous academic journals such as Nature, Nature Materials, Science Advances, Nature Communications, and Advanced Materials for several times, and have been cited more than 1500 times. Hao Bai won a number of honors, including the Qiu Shi Outstanding Young Scholar Award from Hong Kong Qiu Shi Science & Technologies Foundation, the Director's Special Award from Chinese Academy of Sciences, the Excellent Doctoral Dissertation Award from Chinese Academy of Sciences, and the Lu Jiaxi Outstanding Postgraduate Award.

Qian Zhao received his bachelor and doctoral degrees from Zhejiang University in 2004 and 2009, respectively; performed postdoctoral research at the State Key Laboratory of Chemical Engineering of Zhejiang University during period 2009-2011; kept on with his postdoctoral research at the HZG Biomaterials Center under the Helmholtz Association of German Research Centers during period 2011-2013; started to serve as a lecturer of the School of Chemical Engineering and Biological Engineering of Zhejiang University, and was promoted to associate professor in 2016. His research orientation is polymer materials deforming under excitation such as shape-memory polymers, and environmentally sensitive hydrogels. His research findings were published on journals like Sci. Adv., Prog. Polym. Sci., Adv. Mater., Adv. Funct. Mater., Angew. Chem., and Mater. Horiz.
